Laumeier Sculpture Park

Night Out

Mud + Merlot: Pumpkin Jars

Bring your friends to Laumeier Sculpture Park and get creative with clay while mingling with other adults! Sip on some wine while creating a pumpkin jar perfect for keeping candies and treats in. Bring your own wine (or other beverage of your choice); light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

Laumeier Sculpture Park

Learn the basics of the potter’s wheel to make functional & non-functional work. Study techniques of wedging, centering and raising cylindrical forms such as bowls, cups & vases. Includes an introduction to glazing.

Craft Alliance

Work in clay using your hands as the tools! Learn basic handbuilding techniques such as coil, slab, and pinching methods to explore tableware forms and sculptural ideas. You will learn basic surface design techniques using glazes, slips, sgraffito, resist, and carving to get your decorating skill set started!

Laumeier Sculpture Park

Are you an eager plant parent wanting to meet others with the same hobby? Spend an evening at Laumeier Sculpture Park socializing with others and creating a small ceramic planter for your favorite plant or succulent! Learn how to use fun textures in clay and vibrant colors that your plant will be very frond of. Bring your favorite adult beverage; light snacks provided.

Mud + Merlot: Ceramic Trees

Laumeier Sculpture Park

Students will be learning how to create decorative ceramic trees with clay; building methods include primarily hand-building (coils, pinch pots, using objects to create texture) and finally decorating the surfaces with underglaze.

Learn the basics of using the potter’s wheel to make functional clay pieces and non-functional sculptures. Study the fundamental techniques of wedging, centering and raising cylindrical forms such as bowls, cups and vases. Includes an introduction to glazing. Wear old clothes, bring a towel and plan on getting messy!

Wheel Throwing Together: Family Workshop

Laumeier Sculpture Park

Students will be work together on the potter’s wheel to create a small bowl or dish - this is a 1-day workshop intended for beginners or advanced students in wheel-throwing.
